Sabra Metals is a dependable manufacturer and supplier based in Amman, Jordan, providing high‑quality 1140 steel bars and rods for engineering, automotive, and general industrial applications. The company focuses on reliable carbon‑steel long products with good machinability, strength, and dimensional accuracy to support fabricators, OEMs, and maintenance teams. With a customer‑oriented approach, Sabra Metals offers flexible sizes, cut‑to‑length options, and prompt deliveries so 1140 steel bars and rods can be integrated efficiently into both new projects and ongoing production lines.
1140 steel is a medium‑carbon steel typically containing around 0.38–0.43% carbon, about 0.60–0.90% manganese, with small amounts of silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, and the balance iron. The relatively higher carbon level compared with low‑carbon steels provides improved strength and wear resistance while still maintaining reasonable machinability and response to heat treatment. In normalized or heat‑treated conditions, 1140 bar and rod can reach significantly higher tensile and yield strengths than mild steel, with adequate ductility and hardness suitable for moderately stressed, machined components.

Carbon Steel 1140 rod offers good strength and hardness, with tensile strength around 550 MPa, yield strength of 250 MPa, and hardness of 170 HB. It provides excellent machinability and weldability.
Carbon Steel 1140 Bar is commonly used in manufacturing automotive parts, gears, shafts, axles, structural components, and machinery due to its strength, hardness, and wear resistance properties.
1140 steel bars and rods are widely used for medium‑duty mechanical parts that require a balance of strength, toughness, and machinability at a competitive cost. Typical applications include shafts, axles, pins, studs, gear blanks, couplings, and similar turned or machined parts in automotive, agricultural machinery, general engineering equipment, and industrial maintenance. When properly heat treated, 1140 steel can be used for components subject to moderate wear and cyclic loading, provided corrosion is controlled by coatings, plating, or suitable environmental protection since it is not a stainless grade.

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
