Nitronic 33 bar and rod having high performance in corrosion, oxidation, and wear resistance. It contains about 18-22% chromium, 7-9% nickel, 0.5-1% manganese, 0.5-1.5% silicon, 0.03% max carbon, and the balance of iron. Some trace amounts of sulfur, phosphorus, and nitrogen are present for added strength. It is noted that mechanical properties for Nitronic 33 consist of tensile strength: 85-100 ksi (585-690 MPa); yield strength: 45-70 ksi (310-485 MPa); elongation, 45-50%. Its resistance to fatigue and creep makes it highly acceptable in many high performance applications at aggressive environmental conditions.
